In a world still dominated by regressive ideologies that banish the girl child from getting the same quality of life as the male child, this campaign aims to bridge the gender gap by empowering girls through education. In collaboration with Intel, CNN Films and others, Girl Rising is a series of advocacy trailers, behind-the-scenes videos and a documentary so impactful that this action campaign has already raised $2.1 million towards educating girls.
The Girl Rising documentary is a film directed by Academy Award winner Richard E. Robbins about nine astounding girls and how each one of them rose up against the prejudices and atrocities in nine developing nations, to create a life that every human being, irrespective of their gender, truly deserves. With a beautifully written script by acclaimed authors and narration by renowned actors like Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and India’s own Priyanka Chopra, Girl Rising is a movement quickly evolving into a revolution.
